Do something fun and outdoors for the holidays! There will be treasure maps in bottles, treats and a boat ride! What more could you want!?
(We have discounted the adults fare, to make this more affordable for families.)
The treasure hunt activities are for both adults and children.
*Babies are aged 0-3 years when booking on this product and NOT participating in the treasure hunt, eg they wont receive treats.
Please book to include the hunt if you would like to participate. If you think babies or infants will feel left out if other people are receiving maps, lollies and badges, please book them to include the hunt so they will receive them too.
Description:
Cruise across the beautiful Otago Harbour on the Sootychaser from Portobello, or Port Chalmers.
Viewing the birds that are on the Otago Harbour along the way and receiving an insightful commentary from the skipper.
The Adventure map will lead the you to explore the island and see the interesting things along the way!
You will be able to explore the historic buildings, see the old shipwrecks and the friendly ducks and sheep that live here.
At the end there will be treats for the children and adults who are participating in the hunt
Children and adults alike will enjoy this relaxing and fun experience.
In poor weather there is shelter available on the island.
There are bathroom facilities available.
Price includes Adventure Map, return ferry and treats.
We depart from Portobello Jetty, at the time specified in details.
Returning approximately 2 hours later. Extra time on the island can sometimes be arranged, at no extra cost.
Suitable for all ages, as we have maps for everyone. If you have done the treasure hunt before, you can request a different version:)
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Voluntary donations can be made to go to the Quarantine Island community group for the maintenance of the walking tracks, buildings and use of facilities.
Suggested donations on the island:
$2 per person.
(Donation boxes are located on the island.)
