Especially for Cruise Ship Passengers who would like to Cycle the Otago Harbour Loop!
You will start and finish your journey from across the road from the cruise ship terminal, Port Chalmers!

The bike rental operator (Dunedin Ibike Hire) are known for their friendly and personal service and are will deliver the bikes to you. 

The Port To Port ferry gets you between Portobello and Port Chalmers so you can complete the harbour Cycle Loop.

Please allow a minimum of 3 hours to complete. This allows for no long stops on the way, but it does allow for a relaxed ride, with maybe  bathroom or short coffee stop.

(It takes approx 2 hours to cycle and ferry, with NO stops and all going well with wind, weather, no breakdowns or getting lost!)

You receive a commentary on the way across on the Port To Port Cycle Ferry. We see birds, boats, historic Quarantine Stations and shipwrecks along the way.

Its a mini harbour tour as well as a ferry crossing.

The crossing is approx 10 minutes in duration.

Custom made bike rack onboard the vessel, vessel can carry approx 15 bikes at a time. We do multiple trips for more bikes. 

We can sometimes work outside the advertised timetable. For alternative transfer times and locations please contact us.

You do NOT need to load the bikes as the skipper will do this for you. Please remove bags however. Its not necessary to remove batteries, though it is helpful if possible and easy.

On request other drop off/pick up locations may be available.

Bikes exceeding 25 kgs may be at extra charge (and by prior arrangement.)

It takes approx 2.5 hours to do The Loop, including ferry transfer.

Please allow more time to do things along the way and just incase of any unexpected hold ups along the way

*Please note that if bikes weigh more that 25kgs or have wheels more than 100mm wide, we may not be able to take your bike (no refunds available if you've booked then shown up without letting us know and need to be turned away), or there might be an extra charge. (Oversized bikes limit the overall capacity of the boat.)

We ask that you call us to arrange a transfer, if your bike exceeds these measurements or weights, so we can arrange to carry your bike without compromising the quality of the trip for others and the safety of our staff when loading them.
