Meet us at Sawyers Bay, or come across from Portobello by ferry, then a short, organized bus trip.

You'll join the tour to learn about how the Salmon Hatchery operates and how the salmon are bred to support recreational fishing on the Otago Harbour.

From eggs to fish, there is something to be seen here all year round.

The main part of the tour is approx 30 minutes in duration. Followed by a chocolate fishing competition, suitable for children 3 years and up.

If you are coming over by ferry from Portobello, you also will experience the beautiful Otago Harbour along the way, with a full commentary included.

Where: Sawyers Bay (At 1199 Dunedin-Port Chalmers Road, Sawyers Bay.)

Wednesday 21st July at 10:00am and again at 11:30am.

Adults $14 Children $10 

Price includes salmon hatchery tour (30 minutes) and then a chocolate fishing competition with treats.

From PORTOBELLO

Where: Portobello Wharf, 837 Portobello Wharf

Thursday 22nd at 10:00am (for the ferry, returns at 12:00pm)

(approx 2 hours)

There are bathroom facilities at the farm and on the vessel and at the hatchery.
