Exciting, educational and affordable!

See our most popular options below. Or ask us for something else!

Mini Harbour Tour option

25 minutes of touring around the harbour to see shipwrecks, birds, boats and much more!

You'll get  a full commentary along the way.

The children can ask the skipper questions along the way as they are right in the cabin with the friendly captain!

Extend this option to make it 45 minutes or an hour, if you like, at extra charge. For longer options you can bring your own food and drink.

Or for the same price as a Mini Tour, go across the harbour to Portobello, Port Chalmers or Quarantine Island for a picnic, a nautically themed playground visit, or visit other attractions such as museums, cafes or have a picnic, for approx 2 hours, before returning to your starting point.

All ages

Quarantine Island Treasure Hunt

Our most popular option!

Ferry to Quarantine Island to explore the island, armed with a treasure map!

The map will prompt answers to easy clues. The clues will lead you to the treasure box. Take a 'treasure' each and bring it back to the boat at the conclusion of your visit, to swap the skipper for the real 'treasure'!

Self guided. Take a cake and picnic food.

Approx 2.5 hours

Suitable for ages 4-15 years.

Albatross, Wildlife and Harbour Cruise

Venture further from the harbour, to Taiaroa Head nature reserve, to look for albatross, seals, sea birds, penguins, sea lions and more.

Allow up to 2 hours.

Suitable for all ages, but best for ages 4 and up.

For special or private trips, typically minimum numbers of 6-10 (Enquire to check).

Otherwise you can go on the public crossing, for smaller groups.

There is a toilet onboard and washing up facilities.

We can supply music or commentary, or both.

The cabin is able to be heated and is warm and dry.

There is also a partially enclosed outer deck.

Maximum 20 people

Minimum charge $160

Life jackets are provided onboard. Children are able to wear them throughout the cruise, however it is not a maritime NZ requirement that they are worn on this sort of vessel in enclosed waters. (Children are encouraged to bring their own, if they have one.)
