If you have ever wanted to visit Quarantine Island but didn't know how to get there, this independent weekend excursion is your perfect opportunity. Located right in the heart of the beautiful Otago Harbour, this historic reserve is packed with incredible stories, stunning 360-degree ocean views, and native New Zealand Fauna and Flora!

What to expect on your island adventure:
- Historic Sites: Explore the fascinating remnants of Dunedin's 1870s quarantine station and military hospital.
- Nature Walks: Walk the easy island tracks, look out for native shorebirds, and take in panoramic views of the Otago Peninsula.

Important Event Logistics:
- Transport: Ferry transport is required to reach the island, which is included in the ticket price. Boat departure details, jetty locations (Port Chalmers, Back Beach), and times will be sent directly to ticket holders.
- Times on the island are approx 2 hours or 2hours, depending on departure time you choose. (From port Chalmers at11:50am departure returns at 3:20pm. Or 12:55pm returns at 3:20pm)
- What to bring: Sturdy walking shoes, warm layers, and your own food and water (there are no shops on the island).
Please note: This is an independently hosted event. Spaces are strictly limited to match ferry capacity, so book your spot today!
Please note that there will be an element of physical ability required as there may be a short ladder climb to get on and off the island, depending on tide.
And the terrain may be sloped or uneven/slippery.
There is a bathroom on the island.
There is some shelter but please expect to dress warmly and bring layers just incase of a weather change.
Visitors to Quarantine Island are invited to make a gold coin donation to a donation box located at the base of the wharf, for the maintenance of bathrooms and walking tracks and buildings, which you are welcome to enter (when available).
