Quarantine Island Tour – Self-Guided Adventure & Family Fun

Visit historic Quarantine Island and explore its fascinating past! Walk along the shore to see old shipwrecks, step inside the historic Quarantine Station and St. Martin’s Chapel, and enjoy spotting wildlife such as harbour birds. Bring your family and a picnic for a relaxing day on the island.

Your tour is self-guided, so you can explore at your own pace, whether you stay for a few hours, a full day, or even overnight. Families can add a treasure hunt for kids for an extra charge, complete with a treasure map, treats, and badges.

Ferry & Booking Info:

• Take a ferry from Portobello, Otago Peninsula

• Typical return trips are 2–3 hours later. Specify your preferred return time in the booking notes, and we’ll confirm and match it with the closest available time.

• Return payment can be added manually by us once we see your request come through.

Important Notes:

• Access to the island may require climbing a ladder, depending on the tide. Please contact us before booking, if you have limited mobility.

• Children: 3–15 years | Infants: 0–2 years

• Accommodation is available separately—please book via secretary.quarantineisland@gmail.com

• If your desired product shows an X online, call us to book, as bookings are not able to be made online if within 45 minutes of departure. But we can book you in manually.
