A special cruise for school holidays but aimed at ADULTS or children with patience and a special interest in Volcanos!

Explore the history and sights of Dunedin's extinct volcano from the boat as we travel through the heart of it, then out to Taiaroa Head where the most impressive layers can only be seen by boat!

Receive an explosive commentary from the skipper and volcano expert as we go! And expert knowledge form geologist, science educator and teacher, Jenna-Lee Phiefer!

Jenna-Lee, a volcano expert will be onboard to help us identify the different layers of lava you will see. And the dykes of rock where lava had tried to flow and then got frozen in time!

Port Chalmers departure is at 9:30am from Back Beach (39 Peninsula Beach Road).

Portobello departure is at 9:45am from Portobello Wharf (837 Portobello Road).

Cruise is 2 hour in duration, approx.

Aimed at adults, however all ages are welcome, children above around 9 years and above who have a special interest will enjoy and benefit from this cruise.

We will also see albatross, seals, and anything else that pays a visit, though the focus will be on the Dunedin Volcano.
